GOALS

St. Ann School was founded in 1920 by the Fathers and Sisters of the Most Holy Trinity for the education of the young.   The school is under the auspices of St. Ann Parish headed by the Pastor and the guidance and direction of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.   The school is administered and staffed by Sisters of the Most Holy Trinity and dedicated lay faculty, committed to the education and faith development of the students.   St. Ann School received Middle State accreditation status in 1989 and reaccreditation status in 2005.

The school building was built in 1925 housing six grades and progressively increased to include a commercial course program. As the classes grew so do the need for addition rooms.   In 1967 an addition was begun.   With this addition we gained 5 classrooms, an auditorium, kitchen/cafeteria, office space, and more rest rooms.

The administration, faculty, and staff commit themselves to the educational, social, and moral development of the students of St. Ann School.   The role of St. Ann School rests in its objective to develop the religious, intellectual, personal, social, and physical attributes of the students. This is achieved through scripture, worship, instruction, and modeling of appropriate behaviors.   The faculty and staff at St. Ann School understand the doctrine and uniqueness of our Catholic faith.   This understanding is mirrored in the administration of our establishment, the writing of our curriculum, and the teaching and evaluation of our students.

The educational purpose of St. Ann School emerges from the religious nature of the school.   Each child of God is unique and, therefore, has his/her own talents and gifts.   Knowledge obtained becomes not an end in itself, but a process through which the total individuality of the person develops.   The faculty balances an emphasis on academics and social skills with the encouragement of individuality, creativeness, and personal and physical growth.

The curriculum continues to provide a sound education from which all of the students will be able to make appropriate academic choices as they move forward through the grades and into high school.   The students are consistently challenged to acquire new skills.   This information is then measured and applied through interactive situations or through individual learning situations focusing on drill and repetition. The small numberof our school population allows more personal contact between teacher and student.

The faculty addresses and responds to a variety of learning styles in order that students achieve to their fullest potential. In addition, community members participate in religious and educational programs that help to develop the affective, intellectual, personal, social, and physical attributes of the students.   Each student is then enabled to develop a senseof pride, self confidence and respect.   As children of God, we are all entitled to enhance these personal qualities throughout our lives, and St. Ann School assists in this process of self-discovery.
